Ljubljana Chess Festival

Between 24 April and 3 May 2026, Ljubljana (Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Tržaška cesta 25) will host this year's International Chess Festival, where we expect up to 200 chess players of all generations from different countries of the world, including grandmasters.

The games on the first 12 chess boards of the main tournament will be streamed live on the internet. During the nine days, there will also be many side events available for visitors and chess fans: a chess cinema evening, an accelerated tournament (the 5th Nusret Sivčević Memorial and the 2nd Dr. Milan Vidmar VIP Tournament), a rapid chess tournament (the 10th Nusret Sivčević Memorial and the 2nd Dr. Milan Vidmar VIP Tournament), a chess tournament (the 10th Nusret Sivčević Memorial and the 2nd Dr. Milan Vidmar VIP Tournament), a chess tournament (the 10th Nusret Sivčević Memorial and the 2nd Dr. Milan Vidmar VIP Tournament) and a chess tournament (the 10th Nusret Sivčević Memorial and the 2nd Dr. Milan Vidmar VIP Tournament). Memorial Zlatko Bašagić and 2nd Memorial Janko Sarađen), 5th Dragon's Children Accelerated Chess Tournament, playing on the big garden chess, exhibition about the great Slovenian chess player Dr. Milan Vidmar and a unique chess stand.

Registration for the Main Event with a discounted entry fee is only open until 3 April 2026. Hurry up!
