Monthly Children's Chess Tournaments 2025/2026
At the same time, two tournament cycles will take place:
- Under-10s tournament series (born 2015 and younger)
- Tournament series up to 15 years (born 2010 and younger)

Cycle status after the 6th tournament


System:
- Swiss system, 7 stakes
- Pace of play: 8 minutes + 3 seconds/turn
- The tournament is considered FIDE Accelerated Rating
- The results are added together to an annual cycle of seven (7) monthly tournaments.
- The final ranking will be based on the best six results.
Right of access:
- U10 tournament (2015 and younger)
- U15 tournament (2010 and younger)
Applications:
Pre-registrations are accepted via google formsa no later than 1 day before the tournament. All players can enter on the day of the competition, but will have to pay a higher entry fee.
Confirmation of registration must be settled by 16.15. Round 1 starts at 16.30 - we start exactly (subsequent entries are possible up to the 3rd round, where the player starts with 0 points). In case of payment of the entry fee for the whole cycle, the pre-entry will be automatically taken into account for all tournaments in the cycle.
Tournament entry fee:
- €10 for members of the ŠK Ljubljana club – Sign up and save
- €15 for non-members and for late registrations
You will pay the registration fee at the end of the month using the payment slip that you will receive by email.
PRIZE:
Medals for the top three first-place finishers and the top three girls + practical prizes at each tournament
At the end of the cycle - U15 tournament:
- 1st place – PlayStation 4 JETBLACK 1TB and trophy for overall winner.
- 2nd place: JBL Charge 5 wireless Bluetooth speaker.
- 3rd place: the JBL Quantum 400 headphones, over-ear, black.
- Best Girl: JBL Tune 770NC wireless headphones.
- 4th-15th place: nice practical prizes.
At the end of the cycle - U10 tournament:
- 1st place - LEGO City - Arctic Research Polar Express Train and trophy for the overall winner.
- 2nd place: LEGO City Heavy Rescue Tow Truck with Crane.
- 3rd place: LEGO City helicopter for exploring the jungle at base camp.
- Best Girl: LEGO Friends - 42673 Family Holiday Resort.
- 4th-15th place: nice practical prizes.
Each player gets only one prize.
All participants in the cycle will receive a practical prize at the final tournament - if they have attended the tournament at least once.
Criteria and scoring:
The cycle will include 7 tournaments. For the final ranking in the overall standings, the following shall be taken into account 6 best results (6 / 7 tournaments) chess players in individual tournaments.
Each chess player in each tournament receives 20 points for participation and additional points according to the ranking achieved in accordance with the scoring system (applicable to each individual tournament). The ranking in each tournament is scored in the overall ranking according to the following system:
- place = 100 points
- place = 80 points
- City = 70 points
- place = 60 points
- City = 55 points
- City = 50 points
- City = 45 points
- place = 40 points
- City = 35 points
- place = 30 points
- - 20th place = 20 points
From 21 - 99. = 10 points
Additional criteria for the overall ranking are: higher/lower number of appearances, total chess points of the player, draw.
Props and accessories:
All props are provided by the organiser! Each participant should bring their own trainers, a fighting spirit and a sense of curiosity.
