Youth Chess Tournament: ”The Dragon Awakens”

Where: Ljubljana - Tivoli, Museum of Contemporary and Modern History

With the new school year comes a new chess season - and with it comes the awakening of our chess DRAGON!
We invite you to the inaugural “The Dragon Awakens” youth tournament, which will take place in Tivoli, on the site of the Museum of Contemporary and Modern History. The event will symbolically open the chess year and bring together young players in a relaxed but competitive atmosphere.

The tournament is aimed at to all young people, who want to feel the real chess atmosphere and play their first (or new) game bravely.

Parents, mentors and other accompanying persons will also be able to attend a workshop on parental support for young chess players, led by family therapist Urška Kranjc Jakša.The Head of the Chess School, Grandmaster Matej Šebenik, will present detailed information about the programmes of the Chess School in the 2025/2026 school year.
