The 27th Individual National Accelerated Chess Championships for young people up to 8, 10, 12, 14, 16 and 18 years of age for the year 2026 will be organised in cooperation and under the auspices of the Chess Federation of Slovenia, the Municipality of Ljubljana and the Mirana Jarc Primary School.
The competition will take place on Saturday, 21 February 2026 at the Mirana Jarca Primary School, Ipavčeva ulica 1, 1000 Ljubljana.
The competition is open to registered chess players with a valid competition licence for the year 2026, citizens of the Republic of Slovenia (according to the Registration Rules), competing in twelve separate groups:
- a) Open U8 (born 2018 and younger) g) Girls U8 (born 2018 and younger)
- b) Open U10 (born 2016 and younger) h) Girls U10 (born 2016 and younger)
- c) Open U12 (born 2014 and younger) i) Girls U12 (born 2014 and younger)
- d) Open U14 (born 2012 and younger) j) Girls U14 (born 2012 and younger)
- e) Open U16 (born 2010 and younger) k) Girls U16 (born 2010 and younger)
- f) Open U18 (born 2008 and younger) l) Girls U18 (born 2008 and younger)
Competition schedule – Saturday, 21.2.2026
- Confirmation of all age categories at the referee's table in the games hall by 10:00. Latecomers who do not confirm their appearance at the National Championships on time will be placed in the next round!
- Opening ceremony at 10.20, followed by Round 1 and the remaining rounds will be held as they are scheduled.
- Lunch breaks will be scheduled on a rolling basis (depending on the number of players in each group).
- An organised lunch will be available at the Bežigrad Student Residence at a price of € 12 per person. The location of the lunch is 600m away from the games hall.
- The results will be announced and prizes awarded 15 minutes after the end of the competition in each age group, absent players will forfeit their prize.
Timely registrations are required to enter via the online portal of the Chess Federation of Slovenia (entry without a competition licence for 2026 will not be possible):

Entry will be considered and valid only if the Championship entry fee is paid by the due date in the amount of:
- 15 € for registration and payment until 16.2.2026,
- 20 € for registration and payment from 17.2.2026 to 20.2.2026,
- 12 € lunch (only for players and accompanying persons who order lunch by 16.2.2026)
- The Organiser reserves the right not to accept entries after 16.2.
Clubs or individuals can request an invoice or transfer the entry fee by a certain date to the TRR of the Ljubljana Chess Club, Glavarjeva 16, 1000 Ljubljana, Slovenia; IBAN: SI56 6100 0002 6825 115 (Delavska hranilnica d.d., BIC of the bank SWIFT code: HDELSI22), to the reference SI00 20260208. At the same time to the following email address events@sah-ljubljana.si please let us know which player(s) the entry fee has been paid for! No entry to the Championships is possible without payment of the entry fee.
Accommodation competitors, parents, coaches or chaperones is scheduled to take place at the Bežigrad Student Residence, Kardeljeva ploščad 28, 1000 Ljubljana. All reservations for accommodation at the Bežigrad Student Residence must be made exclusively by e-mail: events@sah-ljubljana.si by 6.2.2026 at the latest. Important: The dormitory is an 8-minute walk (600 m) from the games hall. There are only small, auxiliary lockers and drawers. There are no main wardrobes in the room.
