First tournament of the cycles successfully completed
On 12 January we filled the club's chess room again. The first tournaments of the cycle, where top prizes will be awarded at the end of June, were well attended. A total of 68 chess players of all generations took part. We met new, hidden young hopes and saw experienced masters of the royal game in action - and they all impressed us...
2nd LEGO-PLAYSTATION Cycle Tournament - children up to 10 years
32 young chess players took part. The tournament was held in a sporting spirit, with lots of sparkles in the eyes.
The winners of the tournament (including the best boys) were:
- Nikolaj Praznik - 6,5/7
- Mark Musil - 6/7
- Tristan Kamenšek - 5/7
And in the girls' category:
- Ana Zara Deržanič
- Olivia Lenič
- Nika Soika

2nd LEGO-PLAYSTATION U15 Cycle Tournament - Juniors U15
In the U15 category there were 21 chess players who showed a lot of quality games and even more fight. In a close contest and with the same number of points scored, the first three places were divided on the basis of additional criteria.
Overall standings (best boys):
- Jan Verbič - 6/7
- David Krstic - 6/7
- Jakob Kovačič - 6/7
The winners in the girls' division were:
- Lija Resnik Eržen
- Maša Strajnar

1st TAJFUN Cycle Tournament - Open
The opening tournament attracted 15 players, including two grandmasters, Luka Lenič and Matej Šebenik.
The best were:
- GM Matej Šebenik - 5,5/7
- Maksym Goroshkov - 5,5/7
- FM Rudi Olenik Čampa - 5,0/7
Ksenija Čevka became the best member with her fighting spirit.
